History:
The land that the farm now sits on
was purchased from the Sanford family in 1995. Lyman P.
Sanford started farming the land after he bought it from
Martin Pinney and his wife Fannie back in 1873.
At the time that we acquired
the farm the original farm house and barn had fallen into
disrepair and had partially collapsed. Not wanting to lose touch with those who
had developed and
worked the farm in the past, some of the old hand-hewn beams
from the original homestead were salvaged and have been built into both the
Carriage House and main home. See if you can spot them
as you wander through the house. |
